Pau Gasol

Up next on my outlook on NBA heroes, we have Pau Gasol. He is Spanish-born, and a whopping seven foot tall player for the Los Angeles Lakers. He has been a UNICEF ambassador since 2003. He has been a part of many charities and supports countless causes.
Gasol recently pulled off a stunt for a good cause, shaving his trademark beard for the first time in nine years for charity. He is a big supporter on a variety of humaneness like animals, children, conservation, disaster relief, environment, health, human rights, peace, poverty, slavery and human trafficking. Gasol jumps around from foundation to charity to foundation. He has been a part of Aid Still Required, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory, UNICEF, Wildaid and more.
Pau Gasol is so recognized that he has even been invited by doctors into an operating room for a children's hospital during hours. Him and his brother, Marc Gasol, who's a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, have a charity together called the Gasol Foundation. In this philanthropy, they dedicate themselves to "empower young people to live healthier lives." The Gasol brothers will continue to impact the world in positive ways like this.

LeBron James

LeBron James is not only a hero on the court but on the streets as well. Known as "King James", he's done handfuls of charity work. Believe it or not, he has made many children's dreams come true. He is a genuinely good human being, which is hard to find nowadays.
When James left the Cleveland Cavaliers after being with them for 8 years to join the Miami Heat, everyone criticized him. He didn't let that stop him though. Despite all the criticism, James used all the profit from this publicity and raised $2.5 million for a good cause, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He donated leftovers of $3.5 million to other charities. He has also used his fame to help out organizations such as Children's Defense Fund and ONExONE. He also went on to create the LeBron James Family Foundation.
James generously laid out $1 million to remodel the gym at his old high school in his hometown in Ohio, Akron. LeBron has also given 300 kids the opportunity for success with scholarship money and supplies, as long as they had promised to stay in school all throughout graduation. LeBron James continues to run his programs and make people all over the world smile everyday. Underneath that #6 uniform is a truly amazing role model.
